In Courchevel: shop offers a rucksack to transport purchases back down the slopes
On the Verdons piste in Courchevel, a ski equipment shop has understood that one of the biggest problems with shopping in the mountains is transport: how do you transport your purchases when skiing? Moncler have come up with a special rucksack.
With 1.6 million ski passes sold during the 2012/2013 ski season (Source: LaStationdeSki), Courchevel ski resort is known worldwide and attracts tourists to the largest ski area in the world, Les Trois Vallées.
There is no lack of hotels, restaurants and luxury shops in the centre of Courchevel, situated at an altitude of 1850 metres. What makes the resort unique is the proximity of the luxury shops to the pistes. Luxury ski coat brand Moncler has opened a second shop in addition to their store on the Verdons piste, in the Meribel area. As transporting purchases is a problem for tourists, the brand has come up with a practical solution. Moncler has designed plastic bags to be worn on the back, with two blue, white and red straps. Thus the customers can combine sport with shopping and move around easily. These bags have been specifically designed for the store.
Global Blue, a company specialised in duty-free tourism, has pointed out the exact location of the concept store as part of their We Love Ski campaign. Moncler has more than a million fans on Facebook, more than 100,000 Twitter followers, and 161,000 followers on Instagram.
