In Berlin, a fashion and arts concept store has invented its own ‘made in Germany’ label
Simon&me is a small fashion and arts retailer, a concept store open only on Saturdays, offering a small range of products focussing on fashion and men’s lifestyle.
The brand used to sell classic T-shirts; but its founder, Simon Freund, decided to invest in local production and the guarantee of the quality of its products to stand out from his numerous Berlin rivals.
To do this, he launched his own label ‘made in Germany’ and imposed a number of production restrictions on the items sold in-store.
His social and ecological commitments, as regards to the quality of raw materials, work conditions of the craftsmen, or the control of the supply chain, are guaranteed by the label stamped on the products.
This initiative also enhances Germany’s image as a creator of fashion and art objects.
