In Boston, a microbrewery has become an incubator for local start-ups

The Aeronaut Brewery Co. has recently moved to Tyler Street, Somerville. The Bostonian microbrewery creates unique beers  using local products (yeast, barley…). With this local and eco-friendly initiative, the brewery wanted to introduce diversity and encourage others to do the same by inviting other food start-ups to set up on their site.

To finance their project, the founders decided to transform themselves into a ‘food incubator’ site, creating partnerships with start-ups using similar methods. The rented space hosts, among others, Something Gud, which will open a farmer’s market where local organic products are sold. It also hosts BloomBrick Urban Agriculture which is trying to develop an indoor farm.
