In Hamburg, taxis offer a free travel guide
Taxi drivers and travel guides are the best ways to discover a city. The ideal solution is to combine the two.

When a traveller arrives in a city for the first time, the taxi driver is often the first person they meet. He’s the person you ask for the best tourist attractions, hotels and places to eat.
In order to accommodate new visitors, local company Hansa-Taxi 211 211 has developed a unique, original idea. This Hamburg company, created 40 years ago, which has a fleet of 800 vehicles, has put together a travel guide.
Named ‘Weg Begleiter’ (Road Companion) this guide contains all the best-known and unknown attractions in the city. The guides are free for taxi customers, even though they are worth 2.11 euros.
The idea has been a success. The first guide was published in August 2013, followed by a second in February 2014, and a third in November 2014. The innovation has also been well-covered in the German press, adding some national fame to a local company.
