In Holtzheim, a butcher’s is joining e-commerce
Despite their image as the most traditional of businesses- a butchers, like many other sectors, they have started to use new technology to serve their customers as efficiently as possible.

After opening in 1981 in the suburbs of Strasbourg, the Boucherie Spiesser looks like a very traditional butcher’s. They offer a wide range of raw meat, cooked meats and prepared dishes.
It was by introducing a website that they have innovated. While new technology is often ignored in this sector, Boucherie Spiesser uses it to create a world of new possibilities: introducing Christine (the butcher), highlighting the local origin of their products, showing off the prizes received by the business, and also an e-store.
On the website, which is modern and sleek, customers can buy all the products on offer in-store. There is a tab for each category of product (cooked meat, rabbit, guinea fowl, savoury pies…). Customers can find raw ingredients or prepared dishes. Navigating the site is easy and intuitive, making it accessible to all customers.
Boucherie Spiesser hasn’t forgotten the personal advice that comes with a trip to the butcher’s, and even has an area of the website dedicated to recipes and preparation tips.
Despite this resolutely innovative and modern mindset, Boucherie Spiesser remains faithful to its traditions and values. Christine Spiesser, the owner of the butcher’s continues to sell its products in the Strasbourg area.
