In London, a delicatessen where customers can cook
Why not cook your own items in-store rather than buying ready meals? That experience is possible in Jamie Oliver’s London delicatessen.
Who hasn’t at some point asked themselves how they are going to cook their meat or vegetables while they are doing their shopping? To make the in-store experience easier and promote cooking, Jamie Oliver has innovated by launching a new shop concept: the kitchen delicatessen.
Opened in Notting Hill, Recipease looks like any other deli at first sight: the aisles have canned goods and pasta, it’s possible to buy a wide range of fruit and vegetables.
Since 2014, however, customers can cook what they buy in a kitchen located in the deli. They are helped by professional chefs who give them advice on the cooking, seasoning and presentation of the dishes…
Lessons can be booked in person or online. Dishes can also be enjoyed in-store, but customers can also take their ‘works’ home with them.
The concept has been very successful, given that a second deli has opened in down south in Brighton.
