In Lyon, a clothes store is introducing its customers to the eco-friendly world
In Lyon there is a fair-trade clothes store which is hoping to raise public awareness about eco-friendly gestures.
Kulteco is a clothes store in Lyon that specialises in fair trade products. This unique trait isn’t the business’s only specialty as it aims to be more than simply a clothes store.
Kulteco hopes to go further by educating people in eco-friendly practices. To do so, the store organises events and workshops which aim to promote environmental acts.
To avoid spending too much on clothing or pointless accessories and to fight against planned obsolescence, the staff organise workshops where people can learn to darn clothes or knit accessories like mittens or scarves. The store has also introduced swap evenings.
This practice has allowed them to earn the custom of a committed clientele and teach future customers. The “selfless” dimension of the project also acts as a guarantee of the sincerity of the business in its environmental commitments.
Success has followed with Kulteco hoping to move to a bigger location in 2016.
