In Paris, a cheese shop tweets to gain popularity
In Paris, the Goncourt cheese shop has opened a Twitter account which allows cheese lovers to ask questions, share experiences and ask for advice.
In the 11th arrondissement in Paris, the Goncourt cheese shop opened a Twitter account in February 2015: @FromagePourToi (formerly @FromagePourTous). Clients – and cheese lovers in general – can express themselves, give their opinions and ask questions on the origins and compositions of cheeses. The cheese-makers not only respond but also offer side dishes, recipes and tips.
The presence of the cheese shop on Twitter has several advantages: as well as the excellent visibility offered by social networks, the Goncourt cheese shop can demonstrate and highlight its knowledge. It reinforces its expertise and ability to legitimately inform customers in a way that no other company would be able to. Finally the virtual interface tempts potential customers to come to the store to test the advice they have received online.
The Twitter account has enjoyed immediate success: in fewer than ten days, it already has 156 followers. This cheap method has enabled the cheese shop to attract new customers to the store while increasing the loyalty of existing customers by offering them a reliable representative from the world of cheese.
