In Paris, well-known musicians help give hotel decor a new lease of life
Parisian hotel ‘Triangle d’Or’ has updated its décor with a musical theme by asking well-known, contemporary musicians to help with the re-design of the hotel’s interior.
Architect Philippe Maidenberg worked alongside top-name artists from various musical backgrounds, to create a unique take on traditional hotel décor. Rickie Lee Jones (Folk), Archie Shepp (Jazz), Mc Solaar (Rap), Jacques Higelin (Rock) and Manu Katché (Drummer) all took part in the project. Each floor of the hotel is dedicated to one of the above artists, whose creativity helped to design jaw-dropping interiors.
The hotel is now full of music-inspired furnishings and ornaments ranging from star-patterned carpets, hand moulds of famous musicians and gold records. Microphones and roadie equipment hang from the walls whilst other pieces of instrument-shaped furniture complete the look.
Music plays in each guest’s shower, iPod docking stations stand on the bedside tables and the reception area is full of headphones available for guests to listen away to new music, discovering upcoming artists and different genres of music.
This unique ambiance is perfect for the hotel’s young clientele who are uber-trendy and in search of original hotels with a wow-factor.
