In Toulouse, a bar where customers become rugby commentators
There are countless bars which show sporting events. But one bar in Toulouse has innovated by allowing its customers to become commentators. This bar in Toulouse has created a new form of expression for rugby fans.
During the rugby world cup, the bar Au Fût et à mesure installed a commentary booth in their bar. Customers could then take turns commentating on games as they stepped into the shoes of the presenters. Two to three customers could commentate at the same time.
In order to avoid any misbehaviour, some ‘commentary rules’ were put in place (no insults, respect for other customers, no monopolising the microphone…) and posted on the walls of the bar.
Initially this innovative concept was planned for the first three France games in the tournament. However it was so successful that the booth stayed put for the entirety of the world cup.
