In Lyon, a multi-activity yoga hall
Yoga is one of the most popular sports in the Western world. DIY is also very much in fashion. These two seemingly unconnected trends have been combined in a sports hall in Lyon.
Edelweiss Yoga, a yoga centre on the banks of the Saône in Lyon, has come up with a new concept: yoga-knitting-aperitif.
Participants begin with a traditional yoga lesson. Immediately after leaving the room they have a knitting lesson. All this takes place over two hours. The lessons are run by two teachers who have chosen to combine their two passions.
At the end of the two hours, participants are invited to enjoy some sweet and savoury treats to top off their relaxing session. It’s up to the participants to bring and share the food. It’s possible to come for just a session but for knitting novices it’s advised to take a couple of lessons to pick up the basics.
The two-in-one workshop therefore combines sporting relaxation and crafts: this concept has everything to appeal to the demographic of active women who are trying to do as many activities as possible without wasting time. The yoga centre therefore also appeals to curious passers-by and convinces doubters that yoga is not a waste of time.
