In Marseille, a clandestine bar is reserved for those in the know
This Marseille bar has decided to keep its location secret and to open only to a small number of privileged individuals.
Contrary to the usual strategy, which involves finding the most eye-catching and busiest location to establish one’s business, Carry Nation decided to base its success on an original concept: staying hidden and not publicising its location online, nor through any other media.
This Marseille bar is therefore reserved for insiders, and finding it is a real game of hide-and-seek. People online have to first contact the establishment through the website by leaving an email address and telephone number. They are then invited to a particular address on a specific day and receive a secret code to be able to access this venue.
There are still more surprises on arrival, since the entrance is through a cupboard installed in an ordinary shop. Inside, the bar has the theme of prohibition, using vintage photos to invoke the atmosphere of the era.
In response to the enthusiasm for this venture, Carry Nation has extended its offer by organising a calendar of special evenings, workshops to learn the art of making cocktails, and hire of the room for special events.
