In Marseille, a restaurant combines meals and a rest
The virtues of a siesta have been amply demonstrated: in Marseille the restaurant Siest’In offers a siesta room where customers can lie down for a rest after a good meal.
To be in good physical shape, food and sleep are vital ingredients. In Marseille, a restaurant has found an original recipe to offer customers: the possibility of enjoying a little siesta after a good meal.
At first sight Siest’in has everything you’d expect from a traditional restaurant. Upon walking through the doors you enter a large room in blue tones, furnished with dining tables.
But behind this room are five bedrooms where you can lie down for the cost of 5 euros per half-hour. Everything is organised down to the smallest detail to give the perfect environment for rest.
Each room is named after a continent and constitutes an invitation to travel. Specific atmospheres are created: the sound of waves in a light blue decor for Oceania, the rustling of the wind on a hammock in Latin America…
On the first floor, the establishment also has a large yoga room which can be hired out for lessons. At Siest’in, customers can mix and match; choose from the menu, or take the chance to have a siesta without eating or drinking, or eat and drink without having a siesta.
